- Public pages are server-rendered HTML and can be crawled without authentication.
- Private account, org, payment, draft, ingest, and write API routes are blocked in robots.txt.
- Meta/Facebook fetchers such as meta-externalagent, meta-externalfetcher, and facebookexternalhit are allowed to reach public pages and discovery endpoints through the wildcard robots.txt policy.

Authentication: none for the read-only tools below. Rate limited per IP.

Tools:

- `search_listings` — search live listings. Args: `query`, `vertical`, `district`, `sort` (relevance | newest | price-asc | price-desc), `limit` (1-25), `offset`, plus the filters below. `query` may be empty when filters narrow the search. Each result has a `url`, plus `vertical` + `id` for get_listing.
- `get_listing` — full public details of one live listing (description, specs, photos, location). Args: a tak.lk listing `url`, or `vertical` + `id`.
- `get_market_price` — typical asking prices from Tak's price index (median, p10-p90, sample size, month). Args: `kind` (vehicle | property | rental) with `make`/`model`/`year`/`trim` or `bodyStyle` for vehicles, `district` and optional `propertyType` for property, `district` for rentals.
- `list_categories` — valid verticals, marketplace sub-categories and Sri Lankan district names.

Search filters (same names on the MCP tool and as /api/search query params):

- Any category: `priceMin`, `priceMax` (LKR; monthly rent for rooms, salary for jobs), `city`, `postedWithinDays`
- Vehicles: `make`, `model`, `yearMin`, `yearMax`, `mileageMax`, `fuelType` (PETROL, DIESEL, HYBRID, ELECTRIC…), `transmission` (MANUAL, AUTOMATIC…), `vehicleType` (CAR, VAN, SUV_JEEP, MOTORCYCLE…), `bodyStyle`, `vehicleCondition` (BRAND_NEW, REGISTERED, RECONDITIONED…)
- Property: `propertyPurpose` (SALE | RENT), `propertyType` (HOUSE, LAND, APARTMENT, COMMERCIAL…), `bedroomsMin`
- Marketplace: `marketplaceCategory` (slug, e.g. mobiles), `itemCondition` (NEW, USED, REFURBISHED)

Vehicle, property and marketplace filters restrict results to that category. Property filters cover the property vertical (houses, land, apartments for sale or rent), not the rooms & boarding board (`home`); search that separately for room rentals.
Without a text query you can browse one category at a time, narrowed by a filter or district, up to offset 500.

## Search API

Endpoint: GET /api/search?q=<query>&limit=<1-50>&offset=<n>&vertical=<vertical>&district=<district>&sort=<relevance|newest|price-asc|price-desc>

Returns JSON with structured results across public categories. No authentication required.
`vertical` is one of: home, vehicle, property, job, marketplace, parts, agri, food, travel, events, talent, wanted.
`district` is an exact Sri Lankan district name, e.g. Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy.
All the search filters above are accepted as query params; `q` may be omitted when a filter is given.

- **Rooms & Boarding** (/board/browse): Single rooms, annexes, shared flats, hostels, apartments for rent
- **Vehicles** (/vehicles/browse): Cars, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, trucks, buses, three-wheelers
- **Property** (/property/browse): Land, houses, apartments, commercial property for sale or rent
- **Jobs** (/jobs/browse): Job listings across IT, finance, healthcare, education, and more
- **Events** (/events/browse): Concerts, exhibitions, workshops, food festivals, and local events
- **Pets** (/pets/browse): Dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, pet shops, and lineage-linked listings
- **Agriculture** (/agri/browse): Machinery, fertilizer, produce, seeds, plants, livestock, and equipment

## Location

All listings are in Sri Lanka. Locations use district + city (area) granularity.
Prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR).

## Notes

- A thumbnail (cover photo) is included per result to help users identify listings
- No authentication is required for search or the MCP read tools
- Rate limiting applies (generous per-IP limits; cache with ETag / If-None-Match on /api/search)
- Seller phone numbers are masked in API and MCP responses; users reveal and contact sellers on the listing page
- Prices are asking prices in LKR; get_market_price figures are listing-price statistics, not sold prices
- Send users to the result `url` on tak.lk for current price, seller contact options, and safety information
